3-Day Clinic Overview

                                                                                                                                             The 3-day clinics will cover and teach the techniques that Shamus Haws uses for Colt Starting, Horsemanship, and Cow Working.  All of Shamus' clinics are designed to meet your needs.  

The number of participants in each clinic will be limited so each rider can expect to receive individual help and feedback from Shamus throughout the three days, as well as benefiting from the feedback given to the others.  Auditors will be allowed at a cost of $25 per day and cannot bring horses to the clinic.                                                                         

Colt Starting Clinics~
"Colt Starting is my favorite time. We have the opportunity to get with the colts, build confidence with them and offer a solid foundation to build on for the rest of their lives."

 Shamus is a extremely gifted at offering hands on, step by step instruction. Sharing his extensive knowledge and experiences, Shamus makes it possible for the rider to successfully build a solid foundation and gain the skills needed to continue on with a harmonious partnership at home with their horses. Learn everything from proper Ground Work, to in the Saddle communication with hands and feet, to suppling your horse and light hands. 

  If Shamus sees fit or feels a rider is out matched with their horse, an alternate rider can be provided so that horses leave with a proper start.

The Colt Starting class is great for:

*Young Horses being prepared to ride

* Those who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of what it takes to create a safe and useful horse.

*Anyone wishing to increase their knowledge of the details in convincing a horse to be non-resistant, content and safe to be around and ride.

*Those preparing their young horse to be ridden.

*People wanting to build or re-build a solid foundation in their horse.

*Those working through behavioral problems with their horse.

*People with issues of lack of confidence, fear, or anxiety.

Horsemanship Clinics~    

"Horsemanship really is the most important part about riding. There is nothing like the feeling of being as one with your horse and working as a team.  True Horsemanship requires Feel, Timing, Balance and Confidence."

Shamus will help you gain these things and expand skill levels for horse and rider. Riders of all levels from novice to  experienced competitor, will benefit from Shamus' experience.  You will have the advantage to begin right where you need help.  Don't let your experience or inexperience hold you back from the greatest opportunity of learning.  Shamus will help you obtain your goals and reach new limits with your horse!

The Horsemanship class is great for:

* Inexperienced or fearful riders.

* Those who wish to increase their knowledge of creating a soft, willing partnership with their horse free of resistances.

*Those who feel they are ready to take their horse to the next level, beyond just basic maneuvers.

*Those who may be encountering difficulties in some part of their more advanced training of their horse.

*Those who want to understand more or even find different approaches to some of the more advanced training.

Cow Working Clinics~

"Cow Working is very fun. I love it when we get to bring out the natural ability in a horse to work cattle.  I feel like working cattle gives your horse a job to do, and time to focus on something new and fun."

Shamus offers the opportunity to learn proper positioning, timing, control, pressure points and of course Horsemanship while working your horse on cattle.

Basic Clinic Information

Each clinic will be taught by Shamus Haws and will consist of no more than twelve participants.  Participants will be accepted in the order we receive their requests and deposits.  A waiting list will be made.  In case of cancellation, those on the waiting list will be called.

Fees:  3- Day Clinic cost is $300 per person and does not include stall fees. 

Spectator Tickets: Auditing cost is $25 per day and may be limited seating at select clinics.

Payment Terms:  Due to a specific number of people required for each clinic, we require a minimum deposits of $150 to reserve a space. The final payment will be due no later than the start of your reserved clinic time and date.

Cancellation:  $50 OF THE DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. Seven days notice is required prior in order to be refunded your remaining deposit amount.  Clinic deposits can be made transferable to another person through prior arrangements only.

 All clinic participants must sign a liability release form prior to clinics start. Participants under the age of 18, must have both parents and/or legal guardian sign a liability release form in their behalf.

You must have current health papers showing immunizations, a current veterinarian's health certificate, and a negative coggins test. Please bring a COPY of this paperwork with you.
